Leghila - Pop up store

Hi guys,

I hope you all have been well. Yesterday, we had a beautiful day in London, it was nice and warm, so I went down the shops and as I going down Portobello Road, I came across a new pop up shop. How exciting I thought at first, some cool and colourful Birkin bags made of neoprene. How fun!
In fact all the stuff there is made of neoprene. If you not very familiar with fabrics, neoprene it is used in a wide variety of applications, such as laptop sleeves, orthopedic braces and mostly commonly on wetsuits. (I've had a bikini with neoprene panels once!)

Anyways, neoprene offers a big variety of colours, which they have made into loads of different bag styles. There are some laptop cases, which are very useful but I the star of the show, would be the Birkin bag.

I have already posted on the blog about Birkin bags look-a-likes. First I came across the jersey bag, which was being made in Brazil, then later I blogged about the Thursday/Friday canvas style, from America.
I have no problems with look-a-likes whatsoever. In fact, I quite like the idea of transforming an iconic bag, into something else. It's all about the fun, the creativity and also the budget.

The budget.
When I got into the pop up store to have a closer look, I was very curious to find out how much the Birkin style or B-bag, as they are called, would be? My jaw just dropped when the sales assistant told me they were £250 and they are machine washable, she added.
Perplexed, I left the shop thinking that was a total joke! How can a neoprene bag, cost so much? At £250, I couldn't care less if they went on the washing machine or not.

I had to pay visit the website of Italian brand Leghila and I was surprised to find out that you could buy the bag cheaper from there.

I think the bags are cool, I just saw a really nice one with studs on the website, which I really liked but the price is too high, puts me off. I know I'll never be able to buy a real Birkin but in order for me to buy a styled one, I would have to be seduced by the price, which would have to be much cheaper. This always seems to be the case with the look-a-likes, they want them to be as 'it' as the real bags, but if prices are not accessible they will never be.

See you soon.

Smythson shop - London

Hi guys,

I was passing in front of the Smythson shop at Westbourne Grove when I saw this gorgeous window.
I love flamingos and I would love to have one of those in my house!

Green is one of the colours for Smythson's Spring/Summer collection, being vibrant shade of green too, you will find classic bags, wallets and fabulous clutches all in this lovely shade and following the flamingo theme you will be able to buy the flamingos stationary sets, which are so very cute!

I loved everything, how about you?

I hope you have enjoyed and see you soon.

Lanvin - London store, Mayfair

Hi guys,

Hope you all been well. First of all, I wanted to say a big thanks for all my new followers, I am so chuffed so many of you are supporting the blog!

So today, we are doing some window shopping... This is the Mayfair branch of the Lanvin shop in London.
They have recently done their windows and I love the brightness of it. The mannequins look great in glossy paint with huge wigs to match, looking very similar in expression to ones used on the H&M/Lanvin collaboration.

Hope you enjoyed.

See you soon.

Merry Christmas! With my special Xmas cards

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

FELIZ NATAL!

Well, we are almost there, so I hope you all have a wonderful and peaceful time during the festivity.
I'm sharing with you, some of the Christmas cards I have 'made'. They are pictures that I have taken from some of the nicest and cutest decorations and shop windows around town. I love London when all the Xmas lights are all lit, I hope you can get a little feel of it too!

I got excited with the idea and ended up turning this fabulous Barbie Xmas tree picture into a 'card'. I loved it so much that I actually have sent it all my friends! They just know, it's so ME!

The gorgeous light decoration from Selfridges at night.

Wooden soldiers in front of Paul Smith on Westbourne Grove, could not be any more Christmasy.

New Miu Miu store in Bond Street

Hi guys,

The new Miu Miu flagship store in Bond Street opened just a couple of weeks ago. Of course, there was an amazing opening party and loads of celebrities attended despite the weather conditions.

I took these pictures 2 days after the opening, the windows were displaying the Miu Miu 2011 Cruise collection, full of funky prints such as hearts and apples, mixed with the classic polka dot, in bright and bold colours. Now, the windows have already changed for a more wintery look.
I hope you enjoy!

Issey Miyake London shop - Bond Street

Hi guys,

I hope you have been well. I'm adding some new features to the blog... shop windows!!!
I love to do some window shopping, especially around Bond Street or Knightsbridge where you get the poshest shops in town. This week whilst walking out and about with my camera, I managed to take loads of cool pictures. It's been to cold for street style pictures at the moment... everyone is so wrapped up that sometimes it is hard to capture the outfits, but I have some really cool looks coming soon, so stay tuned.

Anyways, for now I'll leave you guys with a view of the Issey Miyake shop in Bond Street! One of my favourites too!
