She's been called 'the most controversial woman in the history of rock' and this outfit was only befitting of the title. Pink lingerie covered with a pink net. Add a couple of wings, a tulle tail, unflattering goggles and a sleek guitar and you're on your way to becoming the frontwoman of Hole.

Katy Perry

The 'Hot n Cold' singer is not looking too hot in this merry-go-round getup. Her fair-inspired dress by Manish Arora screamed "Carousel rides over here!" Ok, so she's not hot in this number, but she does look kind of cute, don't you agree?

Kanye West & Amber Rose

The snakeskin that Amber opted to cover her human skin with still manages to leave us a little speechless. Once you draw your gaze away from the skin you can actually notice the jewellery she pairs it with, but this doesn't help as no kind of jewellery can actually make that skin look any better. Ok, now drag your gaze away from Amber altogether and take a look at boyfriend Kanye's accessory - Hennessy Cognac!

The Icelandic singer was known to have strange dressing streak so it shouldn't really have come as a shock when she decided to wear a nude body suit and throw a tulle wrap with a swan head over it, but it did. It got the cameras flashing and left the fashionistas talking for weeks.

Jamaican beauty, Rihanna goes for a x-rated look (forgive the sad pun). Her asymmetrical catsuit revealing half a bra and one long leg, her spunky hairdo and thick black eyeliner are without a doubt sexy, but it's also weird, leaving us with the conclusion that this outfit is OUTRAGEOUS!

What would this gallery be without an appearance from the notorious Bai Ling with all her wardrobe malfunctions and bizarre clothes? A black strapless bra that's close to another one of those afore-mentioned malfunctions and bright red mini with fish-net stockings is still pretty racy despite her attempt at covering up with sheer black lace.

Don Yates was one of the American Gladiators. Seriously? The floor-length robe he wore over his faded torn jeans along with his wrist bands give you an idea that an ancient Roman gladiator was thrown into the future and asked to dress accordingly with no help of any kind.

Britney does it again at the MTV Music Awards! She wore a green bra with green and blue hot pants that seemed to have a blue cape attached. All the colourful trinkets and body stickers weren't enough for the then pop princess and she introduced the albino python to her act.

Lara Flynn Boyle

'The Practice' star definitely needed a little practice when it came to dressing appropriately for the prestigious Golden Globe Awards. Her tulle ballerina dress and stilettos with ribbons attached make you wonder if she was trying to audition for a role that was a whole generation younger.

Margaret Cho

This talented woman chose to do what most celebrities do at the Grammy Awards - dress outrageously! She chose a black transparent floor-length dress that had a clump of peacock feathers in appropriate places. The dress even had a very visible collar of peacock feathers.

The singer, who chose to remind everyone of amusement parks in our first picture, is now evidently promoting sushi. This outfit is like Sushi in more ways than one. Some people love it while some people just don't!

Britney's long-time rival has had her share of outrageousness as you can see. Alien-like makeup paired with space-looking pants, really Christina! To prove she's human, she decides to flaunt those very human-like assets.

Pink umbrella, black bra and fluffy skirt and leather straps all around her body, that's the 'Umbrella' singer for you.

Phoebe Price

The actress probably wanted to match her dress with her flaming red hair and probably wanted to show off her fancy new orange lingerie as well, but since it would be inappropriate to wear lingerie to the film screening of 'The wind that shakes the barley', she threw on the see through orange cover with full sleeves et al.

Lil Kim

Here she is again! She's showing off more of her big assets AGAIN! We're hoping the yellow tinge on her face is really due to the lighting because it really contributes to the ghastliness of this picture and her lively smile is doing nothing to save it.

If this is not overdoing it, what is? Sparkly diamond shaped pieces are attached to each other to make her top which is held up by criss-crossed straps that cover her throat. Her bottom tries to keep pace with her top and has cut-out peaks on top. Her headdress is the most elaborate piece of all! If you don't find it positively alarming, it's probably because you're filled with curiosity to know whether it's made of her hair or worse still someone else's!

Lady Gaga (and all her outfits!)

Trust the singer to make bizarre stylish! We like her futuristic dress and fancy props. Her bob with bangs gets the thumbs up as well.

Marilyn Manson & Rose McGowan

Manson always stole the show with his strange outfits. This gaudy leopard suit would be a clear show-stealer, if his then girlfriend, Rose of 'Charmed' fame didn't wear black threads for a dress revealing everything!

Cher

Ok we're impressed Cher has managed to keep her good figure, but we would have believed her if she had told us rather than showed us. Does anyone think the dress might have looked better without that strange hat?

Lil Kim

If this were a competition, we know who the winner would be huh? Lil Kim appears in this gallery for the 5th time. As if her purple pantsuit with a cut-out to reveal her left breast wasn't shocking enough! She decided to go with matching hair as well.

In keeping with her characteristic sensationalising dressing, Katy Perry wore a transparent body-hugging outfit to this year's MTV Movie Awards. The fit may have been perfect, but the stone-spangled material looked incredible, straight from a children's art class. 

Lindsay Lohan

Keeping Katy company was Lindsay Lohan who also wore a stone-spangled jumpsuit. But unlike Katy's perfectly fitting outfit, Lohan's looked every inch a product of art-class homework badly done. Aww Lindsay, better luck next time.

Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez

It is no wonder that people go ga-ga over Tom Cruise's versatility as an actor (he's posing here as Les Grossman from the film Tropic Thunder). This picture is perfect for an identify-the-star contest. Doubt there will be any winner (only of course if those who know of Tropic Thunder are excluded)! Hats off Tom Cruise, the bald and fat avatar may not be anywhere near how you actually look but is neverthless a fantastic disguise. And look who's giving the fat man comic, shining relief. Oh JLo! that's too much of a shine!
